At JFK Special School, we provide a broad, balanced, and personalised curriculum that is carefully adapted to meet the individual needs of every pupil. We support learners across a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning profiles, including students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Our person-centred approach ensures learning is stimulating, enjoyable, and relevant, providing pupils with a rich range of experiences that prepare them for the next stage of their education and adult life.

Every student's learning journey is guided by their EHCP outcomes. Our pathway overviews illustrate how personalised learning goals (PLGs) and curriculum experiences are carefully connected to help each student make meaningful progress towards their individual aspirations.

Our curriculum follows a spiral approach, where important skills and knowledge are revisited through a four-year rolling programme of themes, helping pupils build confidence and make meaningful progress. Our themes offer a broad range of experiences while giving pupils regular opportunities to revisit, practise, and apply their skills in different situations. This helps them build confidence, generalise their learning, and make progress over time.
