Welcome to JFK Special School
Welcome to JFK Special School. Across our four sites, we are proud to support a fantastic, vibrant and incredibly talented community of pupils aged 5 - 19 with a wide range of learning, communication, sensory, physical and medical needs.
At the heart of everything we do is our mission: Enhancing Life Through Learning. For us, this means providing a holistic, enjoyable and meaningful education that makes a positive difference to each pupil’s life. Whether that is finding a way to communicate, becoming more independent, building relationships, making choices or enjoying new experiences within the wider community, we want every pupil to have opportunities to learn, grow and take part in the world around them.
Every pupil at JFK is known and valued as an individual. We take time to understand their strengths, needs and aspirations, and shape learning around each young person and what matters most for them. Our different sites and curriculum pathways enable us to provide learning opportunities, support and environments that respond to the individual needs of our pupils.
We have high expectations for every pupil and recognise that progress is personal. We celebrate every achievement, from the small steps that can make a big difference to the significant milestones that pupils, families and staff have worked towards together.
Our dedicated and highly skilled staff are central to making this possible. Strong relationships are at the heart of our school, and we work closely with families and other professionals, bringing together the people who know each pupil best. Together, we create opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and help our young people develop the skills, experiences and confidence they need for the future.
As a founding member of the Learning in Harmony Trust, we are proud to now be part of a family of four special schools within the Trust. Working alongside our partner schools gives us opportunities to share specialist knowledge, expertise and good practice, strengthening what we offer our pupils and contributing to inclusive practice across our wider communities.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils, our staff and the community we have built together. We hope that, as you explore our website, you get a real sense of life at JFK and what makes our school such a special place.
We look forward to meeting you.
